We are looking for:

Copywriter

About the role:

 

We’re looking for a talented and versatile Copywriter to join our team and help bring our values to life. This role reports into the Content Editor and works closely with our wider Marketing and Product teams. It would suit someone with several years’ experience who is looking for their next step within copywriting. Please note, this is not a senior position.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Copwriting
 
  • Deliver the brand’s tone of voice consistently across every output following the guidelines in place
  • Write engaging, concise and carefully considered copy across channels, including email, website, social, paid, catalogue, CRM, PR and ad hoc ephemera
  • Support on any research undertaken around tone of voice and copy styles, and the creation and upkeep of our in-house style guide
  • Edit copy as required, adapting it to suit its end use/marketing channel, and support in the creation of copy across other teams
  • Proofread copy for all channels, ensuring it is accurate, consistent and on brand – feeding back accordingly
  • Support the Content Editor in the creation of boiler plates for frequently used copy, helping to minimise workload

Content Planning

 

  • Work alongside the Content Editor and Junior Social Media Manager to deliver the content plan for each month across the marketing outputs
  • Interpret the marketing calendar and monthly packs to understand the full picture, ensuring that copy is connected and thought through – have an overall awareness of what is going on be able to inform other team members as needed
  • Work cross-functionally, making key connections in the product team, to ensure the copy delivered makes sense, delivers on USPs and is on brand
  • Deputise for Content Editor in meetings, as required

Product Marketing

 

  • An expert on all products, showcasing this deep understanding through the output, including technicality, fabrications, styling potential, history, size and fit etc.
  • Plan product messaging as detailed by the Content Editor, in accordance with the directive from Buying and Merchandising across marketing outputs and on site via the marketing calendar
  • Write all product descriptions to ensure they deliver the key messages, are accurate and give the customer the best possible experience to support her purchasing decisions

 

 

Your skillset:

 

  • Several years’ copywriting / writing experience, preferably in an ecommerce or journalistic environment.

  • The ability to thrive in a busy retail environment and be flexible – we are a small and focussed team, always ready to roll up our sleeves and help each other

  • Exceptional proofreading skills, obsessive about accuracy and with a keen eye for detail

  • Great organisational and stakeholder management skills, able to work on multiple projects at once

  • Proactive, a self-starter and collaborative – always looking for ways to work with the wider team to improve our storytelling

  • A keen interest in luxury craftsmanship, passionate about understanding the intricacies and USPS of The Fold’s product offering

  • Passionate about delivering creative and compelling content across every customer touchpoint

This is a hybrid role, with three days a week based in The Fold’s Bermondsey head office.
