Commercial Finance Business Partner

About the role:

We are looking for a highly commercial, analytically minded Commercial Finance Business Partner to help drive performance across the business.

Ideally, this person will combine strong technical finance foundations with genuinely commercial business partnering capability - for example someone who trained in a Big 4 or leading advisory environment before moving into a fast-paced consumer, retail, ecommerce or fashion business. We are looking for someone who can bring both analytical rigour and commercial instinct into the role.

This is not a traditional reporting or controllership role. We have an established finance foundation in place. What we are looking for is someone who can sit at the intersection of finance, trading, merchandising, digital, customer and operations - helping teams make better, faster and more commercially informed decisions.

You will work closely with the COFO and leadership team to:

  • Improve channel performance
  • Strengthen commercial decision-making
  • Support strategic growth initiatives
  • Develop robust business modelling
  • Create stronger cross-functional alignment across the business

This role will suit someone who is naturally curious, commercially sharp and highly analytical - someone who enjoys getting into the detail whilst also helping shape bigger-picture business strategy.

Areas of responsibility:

Commercial Performance & Business Partnering

  • Partner closely with teams across ecommerce, trading, merchandising, marketing, retail and operations to analyse performance and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
  • Support leadership teams with actionable commercial insight, challenge and recommendations
  • Develop a strong understanding of channel economics, customer behaviour, product performance and margin drivers
  • Drive greater visibility and accountability around key commercial KPIs
  • Support weekly and monthly trade discussions with meaningful financial and operational insight
  • Work cross-functionally to improve alignment between merchandising, digital, trading and finance
  • Identify risks and opportunities proactively and support teams in developing mitigation or growth plans

Financial Modelling & Strategic Analysis

  • Build robust financial models to support strategic decision-making across the business
  • Develop scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling for key commercial initiatives
  • Support business cases including:
    • New market opportunities
    • Customer acquisition initiatives
    • Pricing and promotional activity
    • Fulfilment and operational projects
    • Systems investments
    • New stores or channels
    • Strategic partnerships
  • Support long-range planning and strategic forecasting initiatives
  • Provide deep-dive analysis into performance trends, profitability and operational efficiency
E-Commerce, Customer & Channel Analytics
  • Analyse digital and ecommerce performance including:
    • Traffic
    • Conversion
    • Retention
    • Customer acquisition
    • Customer lifetime value
    • Contribution by channel
  • Work with digital and marketing teams to evaluate campaign performance and return on investment
  • Develop reporting and dashboards that improve visibility of commercial performance across the business
  • Support development of more sophisticated customer, cohort and behavioural analysis
  • Help improve decision-making around pricing, promotions and markdown activity
FP&A & Reporting Support
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes alongside the Head of Finance and COFO
  • Help improve forecast accuracy and visibility across the business
  • Develop more commercially focused reporting and insight
  • Support development of KPI dashboards, business reporting packs and board materials
  • Assist with development of longer-term planning and investment analysis
  • Help embed stronger data quality, reporting consistency and commercial visibility across teams
Cross-Functional Projects & Transformation
  • Support strategic projects across the business including systems, fulfilment, international growth and operational transformation initiatives
  • Act as a connector across teams to improve communication, alignment and commercial decision-making
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset to reporting, analysis and planning processes
  • Help create more scalable commercial planning capability as the business grows

About You:

Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Strong commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering experience within a consumer, retail, ecommerce or fashion business
  • Ideally trained within a Big 4, transaction services, deals, consulting or high-calibre commercial finance environment before moving into industry
  • Experience working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial or high-growth environments
  • Strong understanding of retail and ecommerce commercial drivers
  • Proven experience building financial models and commercial business cases
  • Experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation capability

Skills & Attributes
  • Highly commercial thinker with strong business curiosity
  • Strong technical finance grounding combined with commercial business partnering capability
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Able to move comfortably between detail and strategic thinking
  • Naturally proactive and solutions-oriented

Head of E-Commerce

About the role:

This is not a caretaker role. We are looking for a commercially driven, digitally fluent leader who will take full ownership of our end-to-end ecommerce operation, from on-site conversion and trading performance to paid media, CRM, and the broader consumer journey.

The primary objective is transformational: to take The Fold's digital infrastructure from operational immaturity to a highly commercial, automated and scalable ecosystem that reflects the quality and ambition of the brand itself. You will work closely with the Commercial Director and senior leadership team, collaborate with IT on systems integration, and lead a growing ecommerce team at a pivotal moment in the brand's growth.

Your Team:

You will build and develop a lean, high-potential team with clear structure and defined remit. Your direct reports are:

  • New role: CRM Manager — owns technical CRM logic, email automation, consumer data hygiene, and personalised multi-step customer journeys
  • New role, which will transition from Digital Agency support to In-House: Senior Biddable Manager (+ Biddable Manager) — accountable for all paid media channels, performance marketing budget, new customer acquisition
  • Existing role: Ecommerce Manager (+ Ecommerce Assistant) — daily site operations, digital merchandising, checkout performance, platform availability
  • New role: Trade Analyst — commercial data modelling, performance dashboards, and automated reporting pipelines
  • We currently work with 4 performance marketing agencies / platforms. You will directly manage these agency relationships and assess the platforms to evolve over time to support your team / functions, bringing expertise / delivery in-house where possible

Areas of responsibility:

Trading and Commercial Performance

  • Own and deliver the ecommerce P&L with full accountability for online revenue, forecasting, and margin
  • Lead weekly and monthly trading cadence — analysing performance data and translating insights into fast, clear commercial decisions
  • Define and execute pricing, promotional, and discounting strategy in alignment with brand positioning
  • Drive continuous improvement across conversion rate, AOV, and units per transaction

Website and On-site Experience

  • Oversee end-to-end website architecture and on-site consumer journey — from homepage through to checkout
  • Lead category and product page optimisation, campaign execution, and digital merchandising
  • Ensure all on-site content reflects The Fold's luxury positioning, brand standards, and SEO best practice
  • Collaborate with IT on platform integrations, site improvements, and systems architecture — we run on BigCommerce
  • Identify and remove friction across the UX and checkout experience to maximise conversion
Performance Marketing and Acquisition
  • Provide strategic direction to the Senior Biddable Manager across paid search, paid social (Meta, Google, LinkedIn, others tbd), and display
  • Ensure paid media spend is optimised for ROAS, CPA, and new customer acquisition targets
  • Collaborate with brand and creative teams to ensure digital assets are channel-appropriate and conversion-ready
  • The Fold also send both housefile and cold file (acquisition) catalogues in the UK and the US. You will also be responsible for the data strategy for the catalogue marketing, working closely with the brand team to represent The Fold to existing and new audiences, testing the effectiveness of the catalogues and managing the production costs
CRM, Email and Retention
  • Set the strategic direction for CRM — building personalised, automated customer journeys that drive retention, repeat purchase, and LTV
  • Ensure the CRM programme supports both acquisition and reactivation goals
  • Champion a data-first approach to segmentation, testing, and consumer lifecycle management
Data, Analytics and Reporting
  • Build and maintain a robust analytics framework — using tools such as Google Analytics, attribution modelling, and cohort analysis
  • Work closely with the Trade Analyst to replace manual reporting with automated, actionable dashboards
  • Use data to inform decisions quickly, communicate performance clearly to senior leadership, and course-correct fast
Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the Head of Brand, Product Marketing Manager (new role), Merchandising, and Finance to align digital delivery with the broader business calendar
  • Act as the digital voice in senior leadership conversations — confident presenting commercial data and strategic recommendations

About You:

We are looking for someone who combines commercial sharpness with genuine digital expertise — a leader who can think strategically and also roll their sleeves up when it counts.

  • Significant ecommerce leadership experience in a DTC environment — ideally within fashion, luxury, or a comparable premium consumer brand
  • Proven P&L ownership and a track record of delivering revenue growth through digital channels
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify or BigCommerce (BigCommerce experience a bonus — it's what we use, possible transition to Shopify in the next 12-18 months)
  • Strong analytical capability — comfortable with GA4, attribution tools, and translating data into decisions
  • Experience leading and developing cross-functional digital teams
  • Deep understanding of performance marketing, CRM, and the full ecommerce funnel
  • A solutions-first mindset — you find a way forward rather than a reason to stop
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills — you can talk trading with the Commercial Director and creative with the brand team in the same afternoon
  • A genuine appreciation for quality, craft, and luxury brand positioning — you understand what The Fold stands for and why it matters

This is a hands-on, senior-level role that demands equal parts creative intuition and commercial rigour.

You will take full ownership of the buying strategy from concept through to trade, translating data and market insight into clear, decisive actions. You will champion the customer at every stage, ensure the range is commercially optimised and brand-aligned, and play a key role in shaping the direction of The Fold's product offer as the business scales internationally.

As the most senior buyer in the team, you will lead, mentor and inspire a small buying team, setting the standard for excellence, pace, and accountability.

Areas of responsibility:

Range Development & Product Strategy

  • Lead the end-to-end development of The Fold's womenswear ranges, delivering commercially successful, brand-aligned, and customer-centric product across all categories

  • Apply a strong eye for product to curate ranges that are differentiated, relevant, and right for The Fold customer, balancing newness with commercial core
  • Own the product selection for all third-party wholesale doors, working in close partnership with Merchandising to ensure the edit is commercially optimised and a true representation of The Fold's brand positioning.

  • Ensure all product meets The Fold's quality, sustainability, and brand standards
  • Own and oversee the critical path across all categories in partnership with the Production, Design, and Garment Technology teams, anticipating and resolving risk before it impacts the business

Trading & Commercial Performance

  • Lead weekly and seasonal trading analysis, interpreting data with precision to identify what is working and what needs to change, and acting on it swiftly
  • Translate trading data into both short-term trading actions (re-buys, repeats, markdowns, reprioritisation) and long-term strategic decisions (option edits, category growth, investment shifts)

  • Transform data into clear, concise, and measurable actions, with defined owners, timelines, and expected outcomes
  • Maintain range plans, and reporting frameworks that support strategic and operational decision-making across the team
  • Use insight from customer data and e-commerce analytics to inform range and buying decisions
  • Partner closely with Merchandising to ensure Open-to-Buy is managed with precision, and that range plans accurately reflect the buy

Senior Designer

About the role:

This is a rare and significant creative role. As Senior Designer, you will function as the number two to Design Director Katya Maschenko — a trusted creative partner who can hold the breadth of the design vision, elevate the team's output, and step confidently into leadership as the brand continues to grow.

This is not a role for someone who executes briefs. We are looking for a designer with a genuine and distinctive point of view — someone who understands the balance between The Fold's clean, sophisticated brand handwriting and the commercial needs of our customer; who can create product with authentic design integrity that stands apart in the premium womenswear market.

The Fold operates in a way that is increasingly rare at our level: in-person fittings, access to extraordinary artisan fabrics, a deeply considered approach to silhouette and construction, and an absolute commitment to quality. This is a role a designer can be genuinely proud of.

Areas of responsibility:

Design & Creative Direction

  • Serve as the creative right hand to the Design Director — deputising as required and contributing to the overall design strategy and seasonal vision at the highest level.
  • Lead seasonal design and market research, identifying opportunities that are relevant to The Fold customer and true to the brand's aesthetic DNA.
  • Develop seasonal concepts, mood boards, colour palettes, fabric stories, and design direction with a clear, confident point of view.
  • Design contemporary collections and signature pieces that reflect The Fold's clean, sophisticated handwriting — pieces with authentic design integrity, not derivative of
  • market trends.
  • Demonstrate exceptional mastery of outfitting, range building, and collection architecture — ensuring collections are balanced, commercially viable, and editorially compelling.
  • Present seasonal concepts and line-ups at sketch reviews and collection sign-off meetings with clarity and conviction.
  • Refine and amend collections following feedback and sign-off, maintaining design intent throughout.

Product Development

  • Select fabrics, trims, linings, prints, and colourways in close collaboration with suppliers and internal teams — bringing genuine knowledge of and passion for exceptional materials.
  • Attend international fabric fairs and supplier meetings to source innovative materials and evolve The Fold's distinctive design handwriting season on season.
  • Work closely with pattern cutters and technical teams to develop new silhouettes, drapes, and fits that meet The Fold's exacting quality standards.
  • Produce detailed technical drawings and design specifications using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Support the collection through in-person fittings, maintaining the highest standards of fit, quality, and design integrity throughout.
  • Prepare collections for handover to Production and Technical teams with clear communication and thorough documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Buying, Merchandising, Production, Technical, and Marketing teams throughout the collection development process.
  • Present seasonal inspiration, product stories, and collection narratives to Marketing and wider business teams with energy and authority.
  • Attend and contribute to campaign photoshoots, ensuring product styling and brand representation reflect the original design vision.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the luxury and contemporary womenswear competitive landscape — always knowing where The Fold sits and why it stands apart.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Manage and mentor the Junior Designer and Junior Product Developer — providing guidance, feedback, and a strong creative lead.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and ambitious team environment where craft and excellence are celebrated.
  • Lead by example: promoting accountability, creative rigour, and a solutions-focused approach at every stage of the design process.
  • Support the growth and confidence of junior team members, investing in their development as seriously as in the product.

About You:

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Significant experience in a Senior Designer role within contemporary, premium, or luxury womenswear.
  • A strong, distinctive design handwriting — an exceptional eye for cut, fabric, colour, print, and quality, with work that demonstrates genuine creative authorship.
  • Deep understanding of the balance between brand identity and commercial viability — you know how to hold a point of view while building product that sells.
  • Proven experience creating capsule collections and signature product with a clear brand identity.
  • Strong mastery of outfitting, range building, and commercial product development.
  • Excellent draping, sketching, and technical drawing skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and product development processes.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and organisational skills — comfortable presenting to senior leadership and external partners.
Skills & Attributes
  • A genuine passion for The Fold brand, its customer, and the extraordinary craft that defines it.
  • A deep and instinctive understanding of the needs and lifestyle of professional women.
  • Highly creative, commercially aware, and solutions-oriented — you see possibility, not obstacles.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; embraces change with energy and a positive mindset.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and hands-on — no task is beneath you when the collection requires it.
  • Takes genuine pride in exceptional standards and is unwilling to compromise on quality.
  • Builds strong relationships internally and externally, acting as a trusted ambassador for The Fold.
  • An inspiring team player who raises the standard around them and invests in others' success.
  • Adaptable and resilient — comfortable navigating evolving priorities with calm confidence.
