We are looking for:

Senior Graphic Designer

About the role:

 

We are looking for an outstanding creative to join our dynamic marketing team as Senior Graphic Designer. Our ideal candidate will be highly creative, and able to interpret our unique proposition into unforgettable design assets, whilst having strong organisational skills to ensure the department delivers to deadline, and in a stable and collaborative way. It's a fast-paced and exciting environment, suited to those who can balance outside-the-box thinking with day-to-day workload delivery. The Fold is entering an exciting new chapter with lots of scope to impact on future projects.
 
Purpose of the role: Set the tone for and deliver the graphic representation of the brand across all outputs, ensuring they always depict the brand values and USPs whilst remaining fresh and relevant in the wider market.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Brand Aesthetic
 
  • Work closely with the Head of Brand to define a look and feel for each of the brand’s outputs creating a 360 brand playbook to evolve over time covering the graphic templates and guidelines for internal and third party use
  • Be the guardian for logo, font, typography, crops, imagery placement, colour palette, grade and motion that goes through the brand’s channels - ensuring it’s in keeping with brand standards
  • Lead on campaign projects working with the wider team to present several creative routes to the Head of Brand for discussion and further development
  • Oversee the art direction for graphics and typography for special projects - working closely with the Head of Brand on ideation and execution
  • Operate with a customer mindset, critiquing the work to ensure it meets the brand guidelines but also works for the customer and how she is engaging with it and considering the objectives of the output, the customer journey and the relevant brand USPs
  • Be the expert on visual assets in the business championing best practices and holding up high standards in the delivery of all things creative

Planning and Delivery

 

  • Oversee and deliver the graphic output for all brand creative, including but not limited to website messaging, email marketing, performance marketing ads, social media, store POS, catalogues
  • Work alongside the Content Editor to structure the marketing calendar for each month, planning out the creative flow simultaneously with the content plans to ensure the best visuals are used to represent the narrative
  • Manage the overall design workflow, taking into consideration the requirements across the department (including BAU, campaigns and seasonal catalogues), and prioritise the delivery of these in accordance with their go-live slot or importance
  • Identify any potential risks to delivery and manage these with peers within the team, providing solutions to achieve overall departmental goals
  • Interrogate the briefs to ensure they have a clear objective and directions for the creative team to progress the work, and seeking additional input where necessary
  • Have a clear understanding of the schedules for the delivery of retouched / final stills and videos to ensure workflows are achievable
  • Identify the best individual to deliver each piece of work, checking in at regular points to ensure the work is progressing to schedule and within the parameters of the desired aesthetic
  • Take the lead in the weekly BAU sign-off meetings,including diarisation, delivery and presentation of BAU content to the wider team in a structured manner and taking clear notes on any amends for reworking
  • Deliver the monthly direct marketing catalogues and parcel inserts, overseeing these from creation to proofing, and ensuring that the repro and print proofs live up to the standards set out for the brand

Departmental Development

 

  • Foster a creative environment - encouraging sharing of ideas, always with one eye on the competition and on what’s next, encouraging the team to share moodboards and best-in-class examples and get the team into a habit of ideation and self-editing
  • Form strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business to ensure you are utilising their insights and knowledge and representing the creative team outwardly in a positive manner
  • Ensure the team are clear on the vision for the month and the objective for each piece they are working on, always taking into the account the customer’s behaviour, journey and preferences
  • Share the workload out fairly, ensuring the team have opportunity to develop their skills and play into their strengths, keeping them inspired and engaged
  • Provide regular check-ins to ensure the workload is progressing to schedule and within the brand parameters, providing constructive feedback
  • Ensure the team are aware of the relative performance of the areas they are working on for future improvements
  • Identify areas for your team to develop, sharing the best route forward for delivering (and any costs to be incurred) with the Head of Brand
  • Deliver the creative team’s contribution to the monthly lessons learnt packs and meetings, working with relevant parties to share insights and feedback, presenting clear guidance on learnings and actions to take forward, and engaging with the feedback from other team members
  • Challenge ways of working and processes with a view to creating a harmonious, efficient and effective work environment

 

Your skillset:

 

  • A proven track record of delivering high quality design assets across multiple disciplines

  • The ability to thrive in a busy retail environment and be flexible – we are a small and focused team, always ready to roll up our sleeves and help each other

  • Great organisational and stakeholder management skills, able to work on multiple projects at once and prioritise time where it's going to make the biggest difference

  • Proactive, a self-starter and collaborative – always looking for ways to work with the wider team to improve our visual storytelling

  • A keen interest in luxury craftsmanship, passionate about understanding the intricacies and USPS of The Fold’s product offering
