Interim Head of Marketing

Contract type:

 

Interim / Open to Perm; full time, but open to reduced days / part time  

 

About the role:

 

 

We’re looking for a strategic, brand-led Head of Marketing to lead our storytelling across product, brand and content, and to shape how we show up across every customer touchpoint. You will have a strong creative, marketing background, with experience and desire to run a well organised marketing team. You will thrive on leading the brand communications to our engaged existing customer group and to entice new customers into the brand. You will have a strong balance of a commercial mindset with creative / brand led thinking.  


This role owns the end-to-end marketing calendar and is responsible for ensuring our brand USPs, values and tone of voice are consistently expressed across campaigns, channels and moments that matter. You’ll oversee content strategy across CRM, community and organic social, working closely with the wider business to connect product, brand and commercial priorities into a cohesive plan.


You’ll lead and develop a small team spanning content, PR and community, providing clear direction, high standards and joined-up thinking across disciplines. From setting strategy to quality-controlling output, you’ll ensure everything we put into the world feels considered, distinctive and aligned with our brand.


You will work closely with our Head of Brand, who leads our aesthetic, creative vision and is responsible for creating our brand assets (photography, brand guidelines, graphics, and other brand related assets).

 

This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who combines strong strategic thinking with excellent editorial judgement, and who thrives on turning insight into clear, compelling marketing activity.

 

Summary of Key Areas of Responsibility:

 
  • Marketing Content Ownership: ideation and execution, including tone of voice on key assets, working with brand on creative assets, supported by a Content Editor who is a direct report
  • Marketing Operations: marketing calendar and deployment of content across channels, supported by a Marketing Manager as a direct report
  • Retail marketing: in partnership with Retail team
  • PR: supported by a PR manager who is a direct report
  • Social and Community: organic social channels, channel development, community building
  • Marketing / brand coordination: key partnerships with Head of Brand, Brand Founder, Design Director and Product Director
  • Direct reports: PR Manager (plus junior assistant/ intern), Marketing Manager, Content Editor

 

Areas of Responsibility:

 

Marketing Calendar / Marketing Operations

 
  • Drive and lay out the annual marketing calendar with all the key moments across the function, liaising with other members of the team, and stakeholders across the business to do so
  • Review all activities to ensure they fit in with the wider marketing strategy, and make amends as appropriate
  • Ensure activities are linked and opportunities are maximised across all marketing channels
  • Use insights from trade and Lessons Learnt to make improvements to the calendar, working across the team to achieve this
  • Identify the resource requirements to achieve the plan, highlighting risks and opportunities accordingly
  • Present the rolling monthly marketing plan to the team and wider business, as appropriate, reflecting on how this delivers on the marketing strategy and commercial targets
  • Coordinate the team to deliver the calendar on time and within the strategy parameters, supporting on any RACI build-outs to identify the best way to deliver
  • Reflect on the performance of each month in the Lesson Learnt meetings to drive out improvements for future months
  • Represent the marketing team in appropriate meetings with clarity on plans and successes to feedback to the wider business
  • Own the content cost centre in the budget, reporting on any risks / opportunities in a timely manner

Content Stretegy

 
  • Devise and deliver the content plan for each month, to include a breakdown of the key monthly messages and how these will transpose across the marketing outputs, adding the daily detail in the marketing calendar
  • Strategic oversight of all organic social channels, ensuring content, tone and cadence align with the wider marketing and content strategy
  • Identify any additional assets (stills, video, interview, comments etc.) required to deliver the plan and work with the wider team to ensure this can be delivered within the timeframe and to the existing marketing budget allocated, critiquing the purpose of content against the wider strategy to make sure that content is worthwhile
    Input into the paid strategy at the early stages to ensure that all assets / outputs have the content strategy lens applied and are delivering against our wider marketing objectives
  • Content strategy for all CRM activations, working alongside the Growth Manager on the flow of the emails / SMS required
  • Content strategy for any community activations, working alongside the Junior Community Manager to deliver these alongside, and in accordance with, the wider marketing calendar
  • Coordinated content brief for the catalogue detailing product, brand and service messages
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and articulate plans for the month, making key connections in the product team
  • Use feedback and analysis to guide future content plans to ensure they are engaging and delivering on objectives
  • Support on copy writing requirements as necessary

Tone of Voice

 
  • Ownership for the brand’s tone of voice across every output, ensuring there are clear guidelines for anyone in the business who is writing copy
  • Copy directory by output with examples of best practice for that specific end-use, always taking into account our customer profile and what she would expect from our copy
  • Practical critique of copy created by others with clear feedback on opportunities for improvement, and always part of the sign off process
  • Template sheet for “recycled” copy that can used by other team members to save constant recreation of copy, particularly for ecommerce and DM
  • Coordination with the Head of Customer Experience & Culture to ensure TOV is consistent from marketing and directly to customers, identifying any opportunities for improvement

Product Marketing

 
  • The guardian of all product knowledge for the marketing team, including technicality, fabrications, styling potential, history, size and fit etc., as well as an understanding of the buy level for each item, representing and contributing in product handover meetings and being the go-to cross departmentally on all things product-marketing
  • Plan all product messaging in accordance with the directive from B&M across marketing outputs and on site via the marketing calendar
  • Feed into the PR strategy to ensure that product marketing is consistent, timely and appropriate
  • QC product descriptions to ensure they deliver the key messages

Team Leadership and Oversight

 
  • Direct line management of the Content Editor, with responsibility for copy across all brand, marketing, ecommerce and social touchpoints
  • Direct line management of the PR Manager, setting priorities in line with the marketing calendar and wider brand strategy
  • Direct line management of the Marketing Manager who will support on Community, Marketing Operations and the Calendar, providing clear direction, feedback and development support
  • Set clear objectives, priorities and development plans for direct reports to ensure high-quality delivery and continued growth
  • Overall accountability for the performance, cohesion and output of the content, PR and community disciplines, ensuring they operate as a unified function in service of brand and commercial goals

Junior Buyer

About the role:

 

Take on the Knitwear, Footwear and Accessories departments. With strong knitwear expertise, the Junior Buyer will own the end-to-end buying and trading of these categories while playing a key role in the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring operational excellence and timely delivery.
 
Reporting into the Senior Buyer, this role offers significant ownership and autonomy, alongside strategic oversight, mentoring, and final sign-off. The Junior Buyer will also support the management of the Assistant Buyer, ensuring departmental tasks are delivered efficiently and to deadline.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

 
Range Development:
  • Own and manage the buying of Knitwear, Footwear and Accessories, delivering commercially successful and on-brand ranges
  • Lead seasonal range planning, option counts, pricing architecture, and product development
  • Drive knitwear development, including yarn selection, fabrication, fit, and construction
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate cost prices in line with margin targets
  • Present seasonal ranges, trade updates, and strategic proposals to Management and wider teams
  • Act as the category expert for knitwear, keeping up to date with yarn innovation, knit techniques, and market trends
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis to inform range and trading decisions
  • Ensure all products align with The Fold London’s quality, sustainability, and brand standards
  • Work with the Assistant Buyer to manage the critical path for Knitwear, Footwear and Accessories, achieving the business KPI for on time deliveries
Trading & Commercial Performance:
  • Take ownership of sales, margin, intake, and stock performance across the departments
  • Analyse weekly and seasonal trading, identifying re-buy, repeat, and manage risks
  • Manage markdown and stock optimisation strategies in collaboration with Merchandising
Department Management & Team Support:
  • Support the day-to-day management of the Assistant Buyer, ensuring clear prioritisation and delivery of Buying tasks
  • Oversee departmental workflows including meeting preparation, reporting, system updates and follow-ups
  • Work with the Assistant Buyer to ensure shoot samples, press samples, and internal review samples arrive on time and to standard, reporting back to Product Director and Senior Buyer
  • Act as the point of accountability for day-to-day department deliverables, escalating issues to the Senior Buyer where appropriate
  • Work closely with Production, Design, Merchandising, Marketing, and E-commerce to ensure deadlines are met

 

Your skillset:

 

  • Strong knitwear buying experience and technical knowledge (preferable but not essential)
  • Confident managing priorities, timelines, and junior team members
  • Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable taking ownership and accountability for departments
  • Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
  • Clear communicator with confidence to lead day-to-day operations

Junior Producer

About the role:

 

The Junior Producer will provide pre, during, and post-shoot support, ensuring smooth operations on set and behind the scenes. Responsible for sample coordination, styling fit sessions, and general on set production support.

 

Shoot Struture:

  • Monthly studio shoots on model: Including pre-styling sessions to ensure looks are ready
  • Monthly cut-out product shoots
  • Seasonal content shoots for marketing
  • Seasonal campaign shoots
  • Sample coordination between shoots is key to ensure everything is organised, ready, and returned on time.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Pre-Production:

  • Support the Senior Creative Producer with shoot planning and preparation.
  • Schedule pre-shoot styling sessions with external stylists.
  • Assist with organising studios, locations, travel, talent, and catering for shoots.
  • Compile call sheets, shoot schedules, and project briefs.
  • Assist with shoot lists and ensure shoot guides are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate samples and support styling fit sessions in collaboration with the Product team

On Set:

  • Assist Senior Creative Producer with studio or location set-up and pack-down.
  • Provide general on set support, including preparing teas and coffees and assisting with catering.
  • Keep the set tidy and organised throughout the shoot day.
  • Support stylists and production team with samples, look changes, and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Coordinate couriers for sample deliveries, returns, and transfers.
  • Help ensure shoot guides are followed and flag any issues to the Producer.

Post-Production:

  • Assist with confirming all content has been captured.
  • Support file handling, including receiving rushes and checking uploads are correctly named and filed.
  • Assist with preparing selects for internal review and retouching.
  • Support delivery of final assets across teams and platforms.

Coordination & Administration:

  • Act as a point of support between Marketing, Creative, Buying, and Production teams.
  • Assist with booking talent and managing shoot logistics.
  • Support the Senior Creative Producer with budget tracking, invoicing, scheduling, and general production administration.

 

Your skillset:

 

  • 1–2 years’ experience in production (fashion experience preferred).
  • Proven on set experience (essential).
  • Experience coordinating samples in-house (essential).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, lean team environment.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Full flexibility across the working week to accommodate early shoot times and location shoots.

Store Supervisor

About the role:

 

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store and team. Providing support to the Assistant Manager with driving sales KPIs and ensuring the store team provides the Fold gold standard customer care, product knowledge and styling advice.

 

Your responsibilities:

 
Customer service and sales KPIs
  • Being commercially minded, driving the store success by identifying sales opportunities and store growth and reporting to the manager on store performance.
  • Monitor competitor activity and local trading patterns and report to the manager.
  • Work alongside the styling team to deliver sales targets and ensure sales KPIs are met. Deliver daily team briefings to motivate the team to achieve sales providing support and direction where needed and using coaching/ training to help staff reach their potential.
  • Handle customer service issues and challenges in a professional and calm manner.
  • Be highly confident with one on one and personal styling appointment Build outfits / style the collection with clients.
  • Oversee alteration process from start to finish.
  • Be The Fold brand ambassador and role model for the rest of the team with selling technique / upselling.
Client base
  • Implement CRM initiatives to develop a clientele book, including innovative ways to increase customer loyalty, retention, satisfaction and spend whilst building up a personal client base and oversee your own clientele book.
  • Support Store stylists with building and maintaining their client base.
  • Be proactive in building recognition of The Fold, including involvement in brand events.
General store tasks and team support
  • Perform managerial duties in the manager’s absence including opening/closing checklists, organising the daily run and day to day processes.
  • Work closely with the manager to find ways to encourage/incentivise the team in a creative and productive way.
  • Assist manager in organising, planning and implementing store strategy.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and appropriately to create a self-managing team.
  • Complete product training with team members to maintain high levels of product knowledge.
  • Set, communicate and maintain the Fold gold standards across the store with the team, including ensuring all employees adhere to company policies and guidelines.
Stock management
  • Support the VM specialist with VM moves to ensure they are aligned with new monthly drops.
  • Process delivery and mid-week top up to ensure current collection is replenished and up to date.
  • Monitor and maintain store inventory and stock levels through working closely with the Merchandising team, monthly stock takes, weekly cycle counts and report results.
  • Assist with stock takes.

 

Your skillset:

 

  • Must have previous Supervisor experience in store, boutique, styling or a similar environment
  • Have a strong understanding of KPIs within a retail environment and how to deliver these through the team
  • Is a people Manager who can lead and manage the team in a kind & humbitious manner (ambitious in a humble way)
  • Be familiar with high-end sales processes, behaviours, customers and brands
  • Be passionate about styling and building customer relationships
  • Be a committed energetic, motivated contributor to The Fold, going above and beyond the role with a proactive attitude to work as part of The Fold team
  • Understand the importance of styling as well as the behind the scenes/administrative aspects of the role
