From training as a lawyer to pivoting into a thriving writing career, Yomi Adegoke has gone from success to success – all while staying true to herself. Now a multi-award winning journalist, author and broadcaster, Yomi has a column at The Guardian and is a contributing editor at ELLE, was named one of London’s most influential people by the Evening Standard, and featured on 2021’s Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Her bestselling debut novel The List – a searingly topical take on the dark side of social media – was released in 2023 to international acclaim, and we have a feeling she’s just getting started.
‘The way I built my professional network was by not trying to build a professional network. I wasn't really thinking about what industries people were working in or how important their job was, I was just looking for like-minded creative, and most importantly, kind, women. I had all these girl crushes over the years – brilliant writers, brilliant women that worked in music, across fashion – and sought to befriend them.’
