Whilst we usually favour a fresh-faced beauty look for the office, from time to time it’s fun to change up our look and embrace something vibrant. On set at our S/S15 ecommerce shoot, make-up artist Alice Oliver demonstrated the key to wearing bolder shades in the boardroom; pick one feature to highlight and keep the rest of the look natural. Follow Alice’s simple guide to recreate the look at home:
I created this look with focus on the lip, coral is a great way to add a touch of colour as an alternative to red and suits most skin tones. Begin with a natural base to keep the skin looking radiant – I used Chanel Vitalumiere foundation on our model Diana. To modernize this look, keep the skin natural using a small amount of foundation/tinted moisturizer, followed by concealer to cover any blemishes. A touch of Shu Uemura translucent powder down the nose, forehead and underneath eyes will help this look stay fresh for a long day in the office, I advise keeping to these areas to keep a natural dewy glow in the cheeks.
Next, enhance the eyes. I used nude and highlighting tones of Mac Groundwork Paint Pots to subtly define and enhance Diana’s eyes, followed by a good coating of Chanel Le Volume mascara, framed with a full brow. Avoid heavy eyeliner for a modern take. For a sophisticated pop of colour, I chose a matt coral lip colour, which complimented the colours in the collection beautifully. The shade I used on our model Diana is a No7 lipstick in Gay Geranium.
