– Rachael Holtzberg, Digital Strategy, Monitor Deloitte –

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016:

Every day that I am happy and fulfilled feels like a great achievement. Not because it should be difficult, but because sometimes it just is difficult! We live busy lives, we multi-task like no other generation, something is always being de-prioritised. It’s easy to feel frustrated, it’s easy to feel disengaged, so the days when things just feel good all-around make me feel accomplished.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION:

My ambitions moving forward include changing the face of consulting. Every day I try to change both the perception and the execution of consulting. We’re in the business of solving problems and helping people do things better. But, we can always be more flexible, look for new ways to solve problems and find new ways to generate value. This is an important challenge for firms like ours to always improve the services we provide.

– Emma Heal, Retail Director, Graze.com –

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016:

Two figures make my hairs stand on end just thinking about them; having built an incredibly talented team of 20 people and hitting £20m in retail sales after only a year in market, which cemented Graze’s position as the UK’s No.1 healthy snack and created a truly successful multi-channel business.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION:

I’m excited about the fantastic pipeline of innovation we have to launch; we’ll be bringing Graze into many more shop aisles as 2017 unfolds. After a jam-packed few years of travelling and working, I’m going to move somewhere with more green space where I’m happy to potter about at the weekend.

– Funke Abimbola, General Counsel and Company Secretary, Roche UK –

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016:

I recently received recognition from the Prime Minister, Theresa May, for the positive impact of my voluntary contributions in championing and improving diversity in the workplace and in supporting the next generation of future leaders. I was honoured with a ‘Point of Light’ award, received a personal letter from Theresa May and will be meeting her at a special reception in early 2017.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION:

I am being promoted again in January and will have additional responsibility for financial compliance. This means that as well as managing lawyers and corporate compliance professionals, I will be managing accountants. This is a rare opportunity for an in-house lawyer and I look forward to making a success of my new role. I am also very excited about more developments with my diversity work and the work I do with school children. I am planning towards some exciting new initiatives to further increase my impact in this important area.

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016:

My standout moment of 2016, has been giving evidence and being cross-examined in an arbitration in July. It was a nerve-racking experience, but one which made me feel truly alive. I felt really proud of myself afterwards and it was a good moment to stop and reflect on how far I’ve come in my career. I can’t wait to do it again!
