Our Amazing Photographer, Lara Jade

Lara Jade is responsible for the amazing editorial photography featured in our A/W 2011-12 look book. She fits with The Fold brand so well – from London, living in NY, LJ is living to her fullest potential as ‘professionally chic’ fashion photographer extroadinaire.

At 22 years old, she has already been sponsored by Canon multiple years in a row and been a featured key note speaker for them at their recent annual photographers conference in London. Lara Jade has recently come out with a dvd with fellow rock-star photographer, Joey L (http://www.joeyl.com/shop/package/photographer-shoot-off-lara-jade-vs-joey-l/), soon a book: “Fashion Photography 101”, and teaches regular photography workshops in exotic cities around the world from Maui, London, New York, Toronto, and early next year she will be leading her first workshop in Australia. Her clients include Conde Nast, BBC and Elle, among others around the world.

A/W 2011 Photo Shoot 2 – New York!

We love our A/W 2011 collection so much we decided it deserved not 1, but 2 photo shoots! And since we’re launching in NY this fall, what better location for a photo shoot than at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge!

We couldn’t wait to work with Lara Jade (our fabulous photographer) on our first shoot together! Fun Fact: Lara Jade registered her company Lara Jade Photography at the age of 17!

Brooklyn’s got talent! Our South African model Maritza not only sang and danced her way through the shoot, she also played the piano (thanks to Rabbit Hole Studio for A) having a piano in the studio B) having the best location in DUMBO!) And when we weren’t listening to her playing live music, we were jamming to her iTunes playlist- (arguably the best we’ve ever heard on a shoot!)

It seems our models are not the only ones with hidden talents, our hair stylist- Alexander Tome, not only does fab hair (have you seen the models?!) he also creates original headpieces that match the color of your outfit! Alexander twisted and tied all of the beautiful headbands the girls are wearing in the photo shoot…
