Monday Work Wear
Do not underestimate the power of a good dress. It can do wonders for its wearer. While jeans might be the modern woman’s uniform, everyone really needs a go-to LBD.
That’s why I was so excited when I discovered Apartment 34 sponsor The Fold, a UK-based line that just stormed the states last month. Self-described as “made for the professionally chic woman,” the A/W 2011 collection is just that – everything a working girl needs.
As The Fold’s founders Cheryl and Polly explain: “You should never have to settle for average. Inject some emotional reward into your working wardrobe.”
I couldn’t agree more. And when Cheryl and Polly couldn’t find anything that felt both work-appropriate and fashion forward, they set out to create it themselves and The Fold was born. That’s what I really love about the line – that it was started by women, is designed by women and stays true to its British roots – all the designing and manufacturing is done in the UK.
You should never have to settle for average. Inject some emotional reward into your working wardrobe.
I know I would feel like I had a powerful wind at my back in my favorite Fold LBD – the Brompton. The ladies really had me at the leather panels. I think I’m in love.
As I start making my New Year’s resolution list {what can I say, I’m a planner} I think wearing more dresses is going to be right near the top of it.
