We all have our vices. If coffee is one of yours, you’ll be glad to know this week is the UK Coffee Week. Wanting to celebrate our own love for all that is caffeinated, we have penned down some of our favourite cafes near our showroom in Clerkenwell.
DEPARTMENT OF COFFEE AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS
Set inside a former architectural ironmonger, the shop is divided into separate spaces that include a meeting room and communal seating. Business appointments, friendly catch-ups – whatever your side order with single-origin espresso may be, Department of Coffee and Social Affairs caters for it.
TY sets to reinvent the cafe by providing a unique working space alongside fine caffeinated pleasures. It’s a delight for freelancers but it’s just as much of a blessing for those hunting for the perfect cup. They offer two different single-origin espressos, allowing to really taste the coffee beans, as well as their very own filter brew to serve one of the tastiest americanos around.
Workshop is the likeliest place to spot members of team Fold. The availability of beautifully textured milk in their flavoursome coffees in the morning, tasty treats for lunch and just the perfect glass of red with post work dinners makes Workshop an all round darling. We promise you will fall in love with what they have to offer.
Fix offers an espresso blend exclusively roasted for the shop, filter coffees from Kenya or London’s finest roasters Climpson & Sons, and a thorough list of decaf coffees if you love the flavour but don’t need the fix. Located on Whitecross Street, it follows a straight line to take you right to the Barbican too.
For those that want their speciality coffees served with food made of fresh produce sourced from London and nearby. Prufrock isn’t just a cafe – the Leather Lane establishment also does tasting events for aficionados and offers training for both baristas and regular coffee enthusiasts.
